I will not have time to access the live call, because of the time difference and the need of sleep, but I would be really grateful to know or see in the recall (if there was any time to ask questions):
Can there be to much happiness
I mean not only the outside stimulus that should make us happy and turns into a torture because of exaggeration, but I mean can there be to much of the feeling of happiness?
for what it’s worth, The poet Wallace Stevens wrote:
An unhappy people in a happy world—
Read, rabbi, the phases of this difference.
An unhappy people in an unhappy world—
Here are too many mirrors for misery.
A happy people in an unhappy world—
It cannot be. There’s nothing there to roll
On the expressive tongue, the finding fang.
A happy people in a happy world—
Buffo! A ball, an opera, a bar.
Turn back to where we were when we began:
An unhappy people in a happy world.
Now, solemnize the secretive syllables.
Read to the congregation, for today
And for tomorrow, this extremity,
This contrivance of the spectre of the spheres,
Contriving balance to contrive a whole,
The vital, the never-failing genius,
Fulfilling his meditations, great and small.
In these unhappy he meditates a whole,
The full of fortune and the full of fate,
As if he lived all lives, that he might know,
In hall harridan, not hushful paradise,
To a haggling of wind and weather, by these lights
Like a blaze of summer straw, in winter’s nick.
Good morning from Thailand Robert,
A. Welcome awakening!
How lovely to read what is the reality as I get older here in Thailand,
Those moments of here and now are sometimes distracting to even me as I am experienced in meditations, and hence this reaching out of thanks and gratitude!
Kindly!
Sending you and all here a day of good wishes!❤️
Very interesting indeed
Thanks, Dr. Davidson for the very nice intro and story telling.
Your work has made a very important difference to my life. My greatest gratitude.
We thank you very much!
Thank you, Ritchie,
I hope we all spend as much time practicing well being as we spend brushing our teeth.
Love it! That was great!

I am from Ottawa, Canada. I am new to this “game” and am finding this Summit personally transformational. I am leaving with a broad perspective on what it is to have well-being and with concrete tools to nurture well being in myself and to contribute to it on a larger scale. The mix of East and West perspectives are wonderful as well as the addressing of pressing relevant topics such as equity and inclusiveness. As mentioned in the Summit, this is such a pressing issue of our time. What a prescient time to hold such an event! Thank you all for envisioning, organizing and participating in the Summit and for allowing ‘little me” for taking advantage of this wisdom free of charge. All the very best to you all.

Greetings from Shillelagh, Co.Wicklow Ireland. As a matter of fact, I am now in hospital in County Wicklow and trying to follow Day 3 presentation of talks on my mobile phone whilst I am tucked up in a hospital bed (it is now 01.00h GMT here)! It is well worth the effort to hear these words of wisdom from His Holiness, the Dalai Lama. Namasté. Tony

I’m feeling a bit overwhelmed but grateful and hopeful today. Found out my husband requires an evasive surgery to repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Grateful it was discovered and repairable before rupturing.
Hopeful because we are healthy and resilient! Our faith, optimism, zest for life and opportunity to give back and engage in work we enjoy…provide the ability to tap into our resilience and whole-hearted mindset! This is a great time for this Summit! Thank you

Buonasera from Guadeloupe. So intense and fullfilling to spend these few days with all of you Teachers. Lot of Gratitude. Trying to absorb and retain as much as possible. Thank you
Thank you for your work, it is very inspiring. Science and meditation have enormous potential together. I hope we can all put well-being as a priority and from this place build a better world for this and further generations.
Greetings from N California. You are my heroes! I’ve been integrating my own versions of Buddhism into my psychotherapy practice for 3 decades. Using tools from MBSR for myself and then others; as well as aspects of my formal meditation practice. Mind and Life, “Destructive Emotions”, and the clarity of the research you’ve (Richie + ) provided have been brilliant- -Displaying what we subjectively Know through data, comparative analysis, and further duplication of research. We continue to learn.
Many Many Thanks.
I feel good. Senge from Trinbago.
