Befriending Our "Beautiful Monsters": A Guided Practice to Work with Difficult Emotions

Who else would enjoy this summit?

What You'll Learn

  • Explore how “being with” difficult emotions with non-judgmental, compassionate, embodied awareness allows them to naturally open and transform, revealing the innate well-being and “essence love” at the core of our beings

  • Understand how the cognitive mind can keep us trapped in cycles of emotional struggle by trying to fix, change, ignore, or run away from what we are feeling, rather than meeting it with direct kind awareness

  • Be led in a guided practice to help you work with difficult emotions and connect with your grounded body, open heart, and clear mind

About Tsoknyi Rinpoche

For over 25 years Tsoknyi Rinpoche has been teaching students worldwide about the innermost nature of mind in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition. Widely recognized as an outstanding meditation teacher, he is the author of three books: Open Heart, Open Mind, Carefree Dignity, and Fearless Simplicity. Tsoknyi Rinpoche teaches worldwide at more than 50 retreat centers, and his most current humanitarian project is completing a large school for impoverished young girls in Nepal with both Western and traditional buddhist educational curriculums. Rinpoche has a keen interest in the ongoing dialogue between western research, especially in neuroscience, and Buddhist practitioners and scholars.

You can learn more about his work on his website and the Tsoknyi Humanitarian Foundation. You can also enroll in his Fully Being online course.

I thought I was in a quandary today about my life and I felt so stuck and unproductive. But now I feel OK as this is exactly where I needed to BE! My meditations take place as I walk and in doing so I felt transformed that it was all OK to just BE in these feelings. My mind and my feelings and body were tossing this fixation about and soon it became less of a burden and more of an acceptance. And now I am understanding it even more. Thank you for the light and I love it’s shining within me.

    Hi there,
How can I attend the live Zoom event? I don’t see any place where I can sign up for.
    Thanks

    • Rolf from Germany May 5, 2021 at 4:40 pm - Reply

Hi Illona – I don’t know whether you get this message:
basically signing up for a zoom event is by now redundant,
but there is nothing you missed out upon because those were merely introductions to the videos which are online here.
Just go to their homepage and watch as many vids as you cana within the next 2 days, before a paywall will be put in front of them.

The concept of staying with Beautiful Monster is very novel and New to me. Tradition method I know is to park or ignore the monster and let the clarity emerge with time. If it is possible, I have a request to highlight the experience with some live Example.

My Beautiful Monsters thank Tsoknyi Rinpoche and ask me to befriend, accept and love them. I say, “I am afraid” and fear says “Be with me.” I say, “I am afraid of Beautiful Monsters of terror and horror.” Rinpoche says “Open the door and spend a bit of time with them in base camp – you don’t have to climb to the top of the mountain today.” Thank you.

Thank you. Before even getting in touch with emotion, the person should be relatively free of feeling emotions…. how to generate enough energy and love to accept emotions…
